Call of the Void prioritizes the health and safety of players, volunteers, and staff at all of our events. These policies reflect the current best-practices that we have observed in the LARP community and in our areas.
Our policies for attending our events are as follows:
All those in attendance are required to have two vaccinations and one booster minimum (or one Johnson & Johnson shot with a booster). Vaccination cards must be shown to Logistics at Check-In or shared with Logistics through email. Should a vaccination card be submitted through email to Logistics, the person no longer has to bring their card to Check-In. Vaccination cards must be shown or submitted with photo ID to verify the names on the cards.
A negative Covid test is required no more than 24 hours before and no later than 2 pm the day of game. Anyone without proof of a negative test may not attend. Proof can be 1) submitted to Logistics Team’s email (logistics@cotvlarp.com), 2) posted to the appropriate thread on the Facebook event page, or 3) posted on the proper thread on the Discord server. Players can submit proof of a negative home test through a photo that has their faces, the negative Covid-19 test, and their name and the date written on a piece of paper. Players can also submit a scanned or picture copy of lab administered PCR and antigen tests that have the date of the test and player’s name. This is required for attendance.
Anyone found to be falsifying either proof of vaccination or proof of negative covid test will be banned.
A player may not attend if they were exposed to Covid-19 on or after 12 days before game. Exposure Definition: Close contact to Covid-19 occurs when you are within six feet of someone who is showing symptoms of Covid-19 for at least 15 minutes or an infected person whether they exhibit symptoms or not. This is considered exposure whether either or both parties are wearing a mask. If a player has been exposed as of 12 days before game or any subsequent day leading up to game, they may not attend regardless of testing negative. If a player has not been exposed during this period, they must follow all CotV established testing requirements and Covid-19 procedures in order to be eligible to attend game.
Having previously had Covid-19 does not bar a player from attending game so long as they no longer have symptoms after 12 days before game, have not been exposed on or after that date as described above, and follow all CotV testing requirements and Covid-19 procedures.
All players’ temperatures will be recorded by a forehead thermometer at Check-In. Any player with a fever will not be allowed to attend.
Logistics will have a record of all test submissions and will check to make sure one has been submitted.
Players are required to wear a N95 or KN95 mask at all times at Check-In.
While players are not required to wear a mask at all times, but they must have carried with them at all times. If anyone (staff, volunteer, player) asks for a player to put on their mask, they must do so. If anyone doesn't, this will be taken to a Game Runner and that person may be asked to leave game.
Players who require that masks be worn around them at all times must wear an easily noticeable purple sash across their abdomen - hung from one shoulder to the opposite hip. If players see this person approach within 10 feet of them, they must put their mask on. This does not include people who are eating.
If a player or someone in the player's household contracts Covid-19 within 2 weeks after game, the player must email Logistics or Game Runners. A notice will be sent to the community that someone contracted Covid-19 so that the players, staff, and volunteers can be kept safe. The identity of the player who contracted Covid-19 will remain anonymous.
