Please see below the Code of Conduct for Call of the Void staff. This is what all staff members agree to upon joining any team.
The ultimate goal of Call of the Void is to create an environment that is safe for all members of the community. This goes double for those of us who help run this game. We have a responsibility to model the behavior needed for this. Our words, behaviors, and actions set the tone for everyone else’s. This is a great privilege as well as a great responsibility. Knowing that, we must set a number of reasonable guidelines for ourselves.
At the end of the day, we want to always be friends who are making something awesome together in the LARP space. Please see this document for what it is - friends looking out for each other and making sure that there is a common understanding of how to collectively reach our set goal.
Below are both our shared expectations for all staff members and volunteers and the promises from Game Runners to everyone who takes on one of these roles.
Every member of staff and volunteer is expected to:
Abide by all Call of the Void and team policies, rules, and requirements.
Be honest, ethical and responsible when dealing with confidential information, work or projects, fellow members of staff, all greater community members, and the operations of Call of the Void.
Foster a well-organized, respectful, and collaborative environment.
Treat everyone within the community with respect, politeness, and a welcoming attitude.
Exemplify the traits that we wish to see modeled in the community.
Avoid conflicts of interest in their duties.
Ask questions rather than make assumptions.
Respect the boundaries of others.
Fulfill their responsibilities with integrity and respect towards each other and the community.
Seek to resolve problems or issues through the appropriate channels.
Inform Game Runners of policy violations, rules violations, and any unethical behavior.
Help protect event facilities from damage and maintain any necessary documentation.
Above all, be kind to the community, to each other, and to yourselves.
As Game Runners, we promise that:
We will never tolerate you being harassed or abused.
We will never ask you to burn yourself out.
We will step in and help with any project or situation that you need help with.
We will respect your boundaries.
We will be honest with you, especially when it comes to the functioning of CotV.
We will work with you to make sure you feel comfortable and supported.
We will try to always involve you in decisions that will affect you.
We will listen to your opinions, critiques, and suggestions.
We will run Call of the Void the best we can and through the best methods we know.
Any violation of the Staff Code of Conduct will be followed by an investigation, which may result in corrective action and possibly dismissal from staff roles. The Staff Code of Conduct does not override the Call of the Void Code of Conduct, and both must be followed by staff members.
