As a production of NWRPGs, Call of the Void is first and foremost a community. Staff and players work together to make this game happen. To foster a community that is welcoming, supportive, and safe for all, we have established the following Code of Conduct. If you are in this community, you are expected to abide by these guidelines.
As we are made up of many different people, staff and players must conduct themselves in a respectful manner. This includes but is not limited to acting always with maturity and with the well-being of others in mind.
As this is a LARP, there will be conflict or emotional interactions between characters in game. This drama should not flow over to the out of game space. Members of the community are expected to “police their bleed” - as in, to deal with the emotions and feelings of in-character drama constructively without allowing it to overtake out-of-character interactions.
We greatly encourage community building through bleed-processing between players and staff. We also encourage “positive meta-gaming”- that is, specifically taking players’ emotions into account to direct how another player will engage with their characters. Positive meta-gaming, while encouraged, is not required.
Players, volunteers, and staff are encouraged to speak first with people/the person that they are having in-game conflicts with out of game to maintain a real-world positive relationship.
All members will abide by the laws of those places in which the community is active. This means legal laws (federal, state, local, etc.) as well as rules enforced by the sites where our games take place and online game spaces such as Discord and Facebook.
Harassment, intimidation, and intolerance are not welcome in this community. Any of these actions or sentiments will not be tolerated.
Call of the Void also reserves the right to remove any attendee from a game for any reason. A warning may be issued first, depending on the situation. We also reserve the right not to disclose why an attendee was removed.
Behavior that will lead to a removal from game may include, but is not limited to:
Violation of laws, guidelines from the hosting site, or instructions given by Call of the Void staff members
Disrespect of the hosting site’s property or the property of others
Endangering the safety of yourself or others
Out-of-game harassment of another community member (including intimidation, threatening behavior or words, and other actions detailed in our Harassment Policy)
Intoxication or violation of our Alcohol/Drug Policy found in the Rulebook
Repeated and flagrant cheating
Disruption of the event (Disruption of the event includes many behaviors or actions including but not limited to: creating a hostile environment or displays of aggression that threaten the safety of players, volunteers, or staff; any action or activity that hinders the continuance of game; violations of safety guidelines; etc.)
In the event of a removal from the game, no refund will be issued.
To enforce this Code of Conduct, we have created a Harassment Policy, a Reporting Policy, an Investigations and Appeals policy, and a Ban policy - all of which are located on our website. In order to foster an atmosphere of community and respect, we require community members to review these policies and abide by them.
This Code of Conduct is a living document and as such it will likely be changed and updated as we continue to grow as a community. If it is, players will be notified of it; at the time of the notification the changes will be in effect. Players are responsible for familiarizing themselves with these changes.
By participating in Call of the Void, you are accepting this Code of Conduct.
