Call of the Void is a private club that reserves the right to refuse any person the right to participate in our spaces - including our Facebook page, our Discord server, and our hosted events and games. A member may have their right to participate revoked if they are believed to be a threat to themselves, others, or the game’s community, or if their continued membership would cause harm to themselves/other members/the community. These determinations will be made in good faith, and with consideration of this private club’s goal of promoting safe space for members.
We work hard to ensure that our game is a safe environment for all players. Harassment between all community members is strictly forbidden at this game. In Call of the Void’s community, harassment includes, but is not limited to:
Offensive comments concerning a player’s ancestry, appearance, race, age, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, pregnancy, military or veteran status, marital status, medical condition, etc.
Inappropriate or unwanted physical touch
Aggressive or manipulative pressure, intimidation, or hostility
If a member of the community is harassing other members, please report them to a staff member as soon as possible through email. Optionally, you may also fill out a report form, which will be made available on the Rules section of the Call of the Void website. If the behavior is reported in person, you should follow up with an email to the staff member or, preferably, Game Runners with as much evidence as possible. Keeping a written record of this behavior is of the utmost importance. This evidence should include:
a time and date
a complete and detailed recollection of what occurred
the names of those involved
the names of any witnesses
If this evidence is not provided, it will complicate any investigation made. However, an investigation will still go forward if limited evidence is provided.
Investigations will include communication between the named investigator and the one who filed the report, any witnesses, the person being investigated, Game Runners, and staff.
Investigations will be resolved within 45-60 days, unless extenuating circumstances prevent a resolution. However, staff will do their best to find a resolution before the next event and find a temporary solution if necessary, such as a suspension.
Anyone can file a report on behalf of someone else, as long as that person is okay with being spoken with/talked to by staff during the investigation process.
Staff will conduct an investigation, which will involve reaching out to the accused player to request further information. If staff determines that harassment has taken place, staff will then decide, given the severity or type of harassment, whether the offending member is deserving of (1) a private reprimand and warning with further action based upon discussion with and consideration of what the filer(s) of the report request, (2) a more serious action or punishment, such as suspension, or (3) a ban.
Once decided, the ruling will be communicated to both the individual(s) who originally reported the problem and the offending player.
If the accusation of behavior is severe enough, and the behavior and report take place at an event, the accused player may be asked to leave any event or game before an investigation is performed for the safety of the community.
Please see our reporting policy here.
